Online Elements of Program Design Certificate Program
This certificate program is only available in English.
Setting: Early Care and Education
Program Description: A comprehensive early care and education program responds to the physical and emotional needs of the children and the adults alike. Children need to establish strong relationships and teachers need to be aware of their developmental needs in order to meet them. While keeping children safe and healthy is the number one priority in the early childhood environment, supporting their physical, social, and emotional development is also vitally important. In order to meet these needs, the adults in their lives also need to be built up and supported. This course is designed to help early childhood staff understand the importance of competent leadership, open communication, and support in the workplace.
This course also illustrates the various developmental needs of children and caregivers’ responsibility to assess, understand, and meet those needs. Participants will learn about the physical, social, and cognitive needs of children in order to learn how to meet those needs. Participants will learn about the various developmental experts and their contributions to our understanding of child growth and development. Participants will learn about important physical and emotional factors that can affect children as they develop and learn.
